HALL PASS

Do you remember in class when you needed that hall pass to use the bathroom . But did we ever really use it for bathroom ?, or was it used to dip out to catch 2nd lunch . You know,

grab the peanut butter cookies with your home girl while, making it apparent you just wanna make sure you see your weekly crush .. vice versa . Either way that hall pass was not for the bathroom 😜 hell , the bathroom has not seen you 4th period for at least 6 weeks.

Time to take it a little bit further .. out of high school and into real life . We all have heard the “if I knew better .. I would do better” , but have we also known better and just not done better ??.. Why ? .. why haven’t we done better , is it because it’s gonna be a actual work , possibly causing us to really sit with the moves we making , or facing the reality that what we project or SAY IS AS FAR as we wanna go . You can INHALE AND EXHALE WITH ME AND BUCKLE UP.

Let’s start a bit with relationships /significant other /boo Thang .. whatever you wanna label it as. A lot of times we communicate likes, dislikes , wants, needs right . Even if we indirectly let them know .. we are giving them somewhat the blue print .. to you. Now here’s where shit gets a little shaky , ACKNOWLEDGING THE OPPORTUNITIES/ MIS-STEPS .. is guess what a dam ACKNOWLEDGMENTTTTT * little Louder for the people in the back . Don’t get me wrong it’s very nice and frilly that seeing where you are wrong … because that inner little voice , will let you know. But then what ? .. will it be silence after that or intentional work behind it . It’s a temporary HALL PASS , hearing “I can see what you saying” , “I understand why you are hurting” , “I need to be a better friend” ,those are all HALL PASSES , temporary cork stoppers 🤧. I have learned , the WORDS are the frame of the car.. nice , shiny when polished. But pop the hood , that engine is the action , that’s where the work begins.

Some habits are fed over and over again, with a blind eye , a simple hall pass and no change. For instance some of us have had friends or been that friend . That was truly NOT a friend , and we have all heard “I need to be better” ..And NO FOLLOW UP . Guess what shiny HALL PASS .. why because we hold on to the idea of being better is acknowledging… but guess what it’s JUST acknowledging ..

In the Romance department ….. “ I would be sick of my shit too “ … “ you deserve better for real “ . I know we all hold on to those statements, because in that moment it makes us feel better.. but it’s just in that MOMENT . We all have a choice we either hold on to those words and hope it gets better. Or GRADUATE .. because that HALL PASS may cause you to possibly be left behind. So swallowing they DO KNOW BETTER , they just don’t want to DO BETTER 🥴.. it’s not gonna taste like that strawberry milk .. but I promise you gonna GRADUATE 🖤
